CiSA will have a women’s flag football team in the RSEQ!

Lachine, May 18, 2017— Next fall, Collegial International Sainte-Anne (CiSA) will have a women’s flag football team competing in the Réseau du sport étudiant du Québec (RSEQ).

“The success of the Sainte-Anne flag football teams in the community network and the desire of many players to compete in the intercollegiate network prompted us to put together a new team,” said with excitement Samuel Daigle, Student Life Advisor at CiSA.

A busy start to the season
The selection camp will take place at the beginning of the school year. The regular flag football season will begin on September 17, 2017, and run until the end of October. The CiSA team will be part of the Sud-Ouest conference, section C. They will face nine other college teams. The ten games will be played in the form of a tournament, with all teams competing in two games per day. The competition schedule will be announced shortly.

But what is flag football?
Flag football is a sport derived from football in which, instead of tackling their opponents, the players pull off a flag hanging from the other’s belt. The fact that anyone can play it, it is easy to learn, it is social and it can be played on several types of surfaces makes it the ideal educational sport. Flag football is becoming increasingly popular in high school and Cegep networks.
