Lachine, February 17, 2016 – Sainte-Anne Academy is pleased to announce that on February 15 Taktik Design took home three awards at the ninth GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN, including Project of the Year, for its design and renovation work at Sainte-Anne Academy.

The jury praised Taktik Design’s expertise, as well as the contemporary look and imaginative interactive features of the Sainte-Anne Academy project. “The challenge at Sainte-Anne Academy was to transform 120,000 square feet of space in a heritage building dating back to 1896 into the primary school of the future. The team of designers divided the space into functional visual channels. A system of colour-coding serves to orient students, with each area adapted for specific activities. The tailor-made furniture is also designed to communicate. Unanimously praised by the jury, the project’s strong overall and formal design is a complete success—from the use of colour and graphics to the LED lighting emphasizing architectural details,” explain members of the jury.

“I am truly delighted to offer my congratulations to the team at Taktik Design, who immediately grasped what we were looking to achieve at Sainte-Anne Academy: an inspiring and stimulating living space where children can express their creativity and blossom. We shared a common goal of reinventing the concept of school and are extremely proud of this recognition by the design and architecture community,” notes Ugo Cavenaghi, Executive Director of Collège Sainte-Anne.

The Sainte-Anne Academy project also earned Taktik Design awards in the Institutional Building and Commercial Furniture categories at the GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN gala. Moreover, the project is the subject of an article in the latest edition of INTÉRIEURS magazine.

Open since the fall of 2015, Sainte-Anne Academy is a private school in Dorval focused on creativity, languages and science. The facilities incorporate the latest international trends in design and education and feature theme spaces (theatre, horticulture, Lego®, etc.), movable furniture, relaxation areas, a healthy, green cafeteria, and modern laboratories.
