The Corporation and Board of Directors
Founded in 1861, Collège Sainte-Anne has gone through a number of changes in legal status. The Collège’s current structure dates from 2014, when Collège Sainte-Anne de Lachine merged with Queen of Angels Academy to create a new legal entity called Collège Sainte-Anne. In 1998, the Congregation of the Sisters of Sainte-Anne transferred all management responsibilities to an independent new corporation.
UGO CAVENAGHIExecutive Director of Collège Sainte-Anne
Ugo Cavenaghi holds a Bachelor of Education as well as a joint master’s degree in Education Administration and Business Administration. Executive Director of Sainte-Anne since 2006, he was the driving force behind the development of specialized secondary programs, the emphasis on technology and environment, as well as the international face of Sainte-Anne as a member of a network of partner schools on every continent. He is also responsible for setting up the Cegep program in the former convent of the Sisters of Sainte-Anne and the merger with Queen of Angels Academy in order to establish Collège Sainte-Anne’s new primary school.
Mr. Cavenaghi is also a founding member of the Factry, the new School of Creative Science in Montreal. In 2017, he and Isabelle Senécal published the essay Osons l'école : des idées créatives pour ranimer notre système éducatif. He is a regular speaker on educational innovation in Canada and internationally. Mr. Cavenaghi is also a member of the Program Council for the Certificate in Creativity and Innovation at the Faculty of Continuing Education at the Université de Montréal.
Sylvie LegrisDirector of Finances and Operations
Sylvie Legris began her career as an external auditor and project manager for chartered accountant firms. She became Coordinator of Financial Services for Collège Stanislas in 2004 and then joined the Collège Sainte-Anne team in 2006 as Director of Administrative Services. Her responsibilities include financial services, human resources, archives and material resources. She played a major role in establishing the Collégial international and in the merger with Queen of Angels Academy. She holds a degree in Accounting Sciences and has been an accredited CGA since 1984.
VÉRONIQUE LEMIEUX-BOYERPrincipal, Sainte-Anne Academy
Véronique Lemieux-Boyer has been involved in education for some twenty years. She began her career as a French specialist at the New Frontiers School Board in the Suroît region before going on to teach all subjects. She taught for one year in Guyana (South America) before becoming a guidance counsellor at École Notre-Dame de Sion, where she later served as Assistant Director and then Executive Director. She was Executive Director at Collège Jean de la Mennais (secondary programs) before dedicating herself fully to the Sainte-Anne Academy project.
Bernard HérouxPrincipal, Collège Sainte-Anne
Bernard Héroux taught Social Sciences and Physical Education at Collège Jean-Eudes before accepting an administrative position there. He joined Sainte-Anne in 1997 as Vice-Principal and then Director of Educational Services. He was one of the founders of the Activities Centre (CACSA), the DéfiSports program and the Académie de ski Tremblant/Sainte-Anne (now called Sport et Art Élite). He is involved in the school’s open house events, admissions, implementation of ITC and distance learning. In 2011, he was appointed Principal of Collège Sainte-Anne. Bernard Héroux holds twin bachelor’s degrees in Education (geography and physical education) and a master’s degree in School Administration.
Rachel GendronDirector, Collégial international Sainte-Anne
In addition to bachelor’s degrees in Physical Education and Special Education, Rachel Gendron holds a Master of School Administration. Before joining Sainte-Anne’s Cegep program, Ms. Gendron was Vice-Principal for Secondary 3, in charge of the SciMaTIC program and involved in eLearning and educational technology. Director of Studies since 2012, she is in charge of programs and student files. She also supports teachers and encourages an active educational approach.
